The other morning I woke up and saw Silas in our bed. As soon as I opened my eyes he started talking to me about the Trinity.

S: “Mommy, there are 3 persons of God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.”
M: mm hmm
S: Jesus lives in Daddy’s heart and forgave aaalllll his sins
M: yes
S: Jesus lives in Mommy’s heart and forgave aaalllll your sins
M: yup (still waking up)
S: (long pause)
M: does Jesus live in your heart? Did he forgive all your sins?
S: na na not yet
M: no? do you want him to come to live in you and to forgive all your sins?
S: yes, I do
M: well, you can ask him if you want to
S: (without hesitation) Nord Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins, and come and live in my heart, in Jesus name, amen.
M: now…does Jesus live in your heart? Did he forgive all your sins?
S: (confidently) yes!!!

of course we’ll be looking for the fruits of genuine salvation, “but Jesus said, β€œLet the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14

We saw the first signs of competition in Silas the other night. We were playing a really cool game with the kids. It was funny that Russell matched the most cards at one point and I said “Daddy’s Winning! Yay!” Silas had a strange smile on his face and tried to say nicely, “He’s winning MY game :)”

Yesterday we had to pick up a few things at the grocery store, as we were having someone over for dinner. After we left the food store, we had to run to the dollar store. I told the kids, “hurry guys, we have to go to the dollar store, we’re having hospitality tonight” Silas piped up “At the dollar store?”

Yesterday my little ones got into a spat and Macie came upstairs crying. I asked her what happened and she said Silas hit her. I asked him about it and he said he didn’t. So we went step by step. Silas was explaining that Macie hit him. “Then what did you do Silas?”
“I gave her mercy.”
I laughed out loud. πŸ™‚
